  GUIDELINES FOR ASSIGNING POINTS
  Flowers

When you meet with your adviser, talk to him/her about points, but have some idea yourself abut the number of points you think you should assign.

  1. Talk to other students and the resident adviser in your dorm.  They are very familiar with the point system.

  2. Beginning science courses are high demand courses; they require a lot of points.

  3. You probably have already discovered that some professors are high demand; again, lots of points will probably be required.

  4. Note how many times the course is taught during the academic year.  Obviously your opportunity to get in a class is enhanced if the course is offered many times during the year.

  5. You need to set priorities.  If you really want a course that is in high demand, you must decide whether or not you should use most of you points for the course and take your chances on the other blocks.
