Why have you chosen to work in or support the nonprofit sector?
I don’t think I could see myself anywhere else. I feel the nonprofit sector is the very best outlet to work towards systemic change and improve my community, while still earning a living.
Why do you want to be a mentor for PIFP?
I appreciate the opportunity to help the nonprofit sector benefit from the skills and knowledge base CC grads and students bring to the table. It is also just fun to be connected to my alma mater!
What’s your favorite book or movie?
I read a lot of novels that take place in foreign countries, like Snow (which is set in Turkey) and A Fine Balance (takes place in India.) Movie- That is so hard to answer. I can tell you my favorite TV show is LOST- its fascinating on so many levels (scientific, metaphysical, spiritual, and the soap opera aspects too!)
What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?
I am married to a Republican! But I am an active peace and justice advocate and extremely liberal. Somehow, we make it work- love trumps politics! We are expecting our first baby April 18th.
