Why have you chosen to work in (or support) the nonprofit sector?

My career has moved through two rather large non-profits and now to state public service at the Division of Insurance. When I was at CC, I took two blocks off for an internship at the Wyoming Legislature. Since then, I’ve always had an interest in public policy at the state level. I developed expertise in health policy and now work in all types of insurance. Non-profits have always made me feel like I was making a difference. Public service in any capacity is important to me and that includes community service.

Why do you want to be a mentor for PIFP?

I think I have a lot to offer in the world of public policy and volunteerism. I’ve worked at organizations that hosted CC fellows and I’ve always connected and taken on a mentoring role. I’d like to do it formally .

What’s your favorite book or movie?

Singing in the Rain, Daughter of Fortune by Isabelle Allende

What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?

I have no idea.
