Current employment position:
Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust, Resource Development/Community Outreach Coordinator
Experience/areas of interest:
I have lived in Colorado Springs for 12 years now, and I call this my other home. I am originally from Guam and was born and raised there until I was 11. I have traveled a bit across the country and studied abroad in Paris for a summer. My two favorite loves are art and my daughter.
Why have you chosen to work in or support the nonprofit sector?
My education from CC taught me to recognize and care about the injustices in the world. By working in the nonprofit sector, I am able to feel like I am part of a larger unit with a mission to combat some of that injustice.
Why do you want to be a mentor for PIFP?
I loved my mentor and I know the positive impact she had on me. I would love to give someone else that same experience.
What’s your favorite book or movie?
My favorite book is Dr. Seuss’ Oh the Places You’ll Go. It is so positive and uplifting and I feel the same effect every time I read it.
I have a ton of favorite movies. Some are: Walk the Line, Namesake, Wedding Singer, Pursuit of Happyness, and Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. I love witty movies that are funny and original.
What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?
I love to play video games. Some of my favorites include: Bust a Grove II, Guitar Hero, Secret of Mana, and the Final Fantasies.
