Why have you chosen to work in the nonprofit sector?

I think I missed an important part of the world in the first half of my life because I didn’t know much about nonprofits or the important  work they do. If I could go back to CC and do it all again, knowing what I know now, I’d be applying to PIFP! So this is a good way for me to experience and learn what I missed back then. And it’s a good fit for what I want to do with the second half of my life!

What do you enjoy or value most about being a PIFP advisory board member?

The people are great. Our board members are amazing people, truly committed to the nonprofit sector and the program, and the students and fellows I have had the opportunity to interact with are so impressive. They have their priorities straight in a way that I don’t remember having when I was their age!

What’s your favorite book or movie?

Favorite book: Any of Margaret Atwood’s books; Possession by A.S. Byatt.  Favorite movie(s): Fiddler on the Roof; Like Water for Chocolate; The Princess Bride

What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?

I have gills (no kidding!)
