Why have you chosen to work in or support the nonprofit sector?

Although my career is not within the nonprofit sector, my volunteer work is within the sector. In addition to my PIFP board work, I volunteer at the Family Tree Crisis Center and for the Catholic Charities Samaritan House homeless shelter.

What do you enjoy or value most about being a PIFP advisory board member?

My involvement with PIFP has been gratifying for several reasons. First of all, I'm glad I can give sometheing back to the CC community while at the same time supporting systemic change through the non-profit sector. The most enjoyable aspect has been interacting with my CC alumni board members and the talented, bright and dedicated students who participate in the fellowship.

What’s your favorite book or movie?

I’ll generalize and say that my favorite movie genres are foreign/independent films.

What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?

I got my pilot’s license for flying gliders while I was a medical student.
