Why did you want to become a PIFP Fellow?

I was looking for an opportunity to become involved with a nonprofit related to health care policy, and PIFP offered a great fellowship for one year in Denver with CCHI. It was the perfect amount of time to explore the nonprofit sector.

Please give a brief description of your job/role in your host organization:

I work as a health-care advocate for CCHI. Some of my responsibilities include updating the Blue Guide, fielding consumer calls, community outreach, and compiling the bi-weekly newsletter.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about your host organization so far?  

CCHI, although comprised of nine staff members, has tremendous influence in state health care policy. Everyone at CCHI is incredibly dedicated to the work and to carrying out CCHI’s mission
