Why did you want to become a PIFP Fellow?

I wanted to gain an understanding of the nonprofit sector because I had never worked with a nonprofit organization before.

Please give a brief description of your job/role in your host organization.

I am responsible for updating two databases: I read through legislation for all 50 states about higher education and issues of access. Soon I will be updating the organization’s post-secondary education website. I’m also doing research on higher education and undocumented students—more specifically, answering information requests on this topic.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about your host organization so far?

Everyone I work with is a genius! Because it’s a bi-partisan organization, people know a lot about whatever their specialty area is.
