Welcome Parents and Families!
Whether you are a “first-timer” or an experienced college parent…whether you live across town or across the country…wherever you find yourself and whatever your circumstances…you are a valuable member of the Colorado College community! You, after all, have nurtured and raised the bright, enthusiastic, and capable young adults we are proud to call CC students!
Colorado College offers a wealth of opportunities for your child, both in the classroom and through our extensive co-curricular program. Sometimes the array of choices and resources can seem overwhelming! The parent and family relations office is here to support you and to help you stay connected to your student as you journey with them through their college experience.
Here are some ways to maintain that connection:
- If your student calls you with a question and you’re not sure where to turn, visit Resources for Parents or Parent FAQs for helpful links!
- If you’d like to have a conversation or share information with other parents just like you, join our CC parents’ Facebook group. You can also like the Colorado College Facebook page to keep up with goings-on around campus.
- As a CC parent, you are automatically subscribed to a variety of publications which are both informative and entertaining. The CC Bulletin, our news magazine, is published and mailed three times a year. Family Connections, our new e-newsletter just for parents, will arrive in your e-mail inbox once each block, along with President Tiefenthaler's e-newsletter, which is sent each block break. Check out some of our other campus publications, as well as President Tiefenthaler's occasional blog, for interesting articles and perspectives.
- At Colorado College, you are more than just a parent; you are part of the global CC network. In collaboration with the alumni relations office, regional alumni and parent volunteers plan events across the nation and around the world to connect and engage members of the CC network. We encourage you to participate in these regional alumni/parent activities by attending an event, hosting an event, serving on a regional chapter volunteer committee, and, most importantly, spreading the word about Colorado College in your community. For more information about being involved near you, please contact Mark Versen, Asst. Director of Off-Campus Programs, at 719-389-6778 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please also feel welcome to contact me with questions, concerns, or suggestions about how Colorado College can better serve you.
I look forward to either seeing you on campus or speaking with you soon!
