Event Listing

How to Create an Event Item

  1. Go to http://www.coloradocollege.edu/newsevents/submit/submitevent/.
  2. Fill in the fields with the information for your story and click "Send".

How to Create a New Event Listing from the Website Browser

  1. Using the Website Browser tab, navigate to the page where you will be adding the widget and double click on the name of the page to preview it.
  2. In the upper right of the section in your page where you want to add the widget, click "Add".
  3. Chose "Widget" from the dropdown.
  4. In the left column of the dialogue box that appears, choose "CC - Event Listing"
  5. In the upper right corner, choose "Create New CC - Event Listing".
  6. Fill in the "Widget Title" field using the naming conventions outlined in the Widgets Best Practices page.
  7. Choose the "Folder/Host" to save the content in the appropriate place for your site.
  8. Fill in the "Display Title", which is the text that appears at the top of your list, for example "Recent Events".
  9. Enter a "Display Sub-Header" if desired, which will display just before the "Display Title" in a different font color.
  10. Select the areas in the "Event Category", "Offices" and "Departments" lists that you would like to pull your Event from or don't select any to pull from all Event.
    Note: Use Ctrl+Click (PC) or Cmd+Click (Mac) to select more than one item from each box.
  11. In the "Number of Results" field, enter the number of Event Items you want to display at one time.
  12. Select "Show Type" if you would like to show the kind of event in the listing. 
  13. Select "Show View Calendar Link" if you would like a link at the bottom of the listing that links to the larger Colorado College global calendar.
  14. When you are finished, click "Save" or "Save and Publish"
  15. Your widget will now display on the page you started from.
  16. In the administration column of the left of the page, click "Publish Page" and then click "OK" in the dialogue box that appears.

How to Create a New Event Listing from the Content Tab

  1. From the Content tab of the administration screen, chose "CC - Event Listing" from the "Type" dropdown at the top of the left column.
  2. In the upper right corner of the screen, click the "Add New Content" dropdown, then select the "Add New Content" option.
  3. Fill in the "Widget Title" field using the naming conventions outlined in the Widgets Best Practices page.
  4. Choose the "Folder/Host" to save the content in the appropriate place for your site.
  5. Fill in the "Display Title", which is the text that appears at the top of your list, for example "Recent Events".
  6. Enter a "Display Sub-Header" if desired, which will display just before the "Display Title" in a different font color.
  7. Select the areas in the "Event Category", "Offices" and "Departments" lists that you would like to pull your Event from or don't select any to pull from all Event.

How to Add an Existing Event Listing to a Page

  1. Using the Website Browser tab, navigate to the page where you will be adding the widget and double click on the name of the page to preview it.
  2. In the upper right of the section in your page where you want to add the widget, click "Add".
  3. Chose "Widget" from the dropdown.
  4. In the left column of the dialogue box that appears, choose "CC - Event Listing"
  5. Type a term into the "Search" field based on how you have named your widget and click the "Search" button to shorten the list of widgets available.
  6. Click "Select" to the left of the widget you would like to add to your page.
  7. Your widget will now display on the page you started from.
  8. In the administration column of the left of the page, click "Publish Page" and then click "OK" in the dialogue box that appears.

How to Edit a Event Listing from Your Page

  1. Using the Website Browser tab, navigate to the page where you will be adding the widget and double click on the name of the page to preview it.
  2. In the upper left corner of the widget you wish to edit, click "Widget".
  3. Modify any of the fields you wish to change.
  4. When you are finished, click "Save" or "Save and Publish".

How to Edit a Event Listing from the Content Tab

  1. From the Content tab of the administration screen, chose "CC - Event Listing" from the "Type" dropdown at the top of the left column.
  2. Use the following "Widget Title" and/or "Folder/Host" fields to input information specific to your widget.
  3. Click the "Search" button.
  4. Click on the name of the widget from the list that you would like to edit.
  5. Modify any of the fields you wish to change.
  6. When you are finished, click "Save" or "Save and Publish".
