Teaching English as a Foreign Language
Prague, Czech Republic
Pursing her love of Russian language, Marcella used her summer and the Transitions Fellowship to take a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course in Prague, Czech Republic. This 4 week, 120-hour program gave Marcella valuable hands-on training and experience with teaching; out of several other TEFL programs, this particular one was most attractive to Marcella because of its practical focus, central location, and extensive global alumni network.
From the skills and connections she gained from her TEFL program, she gained a job teaching in Belgrade, Serbia and she plans to teach in Russia afterward. Marcella believes that the Transitions Fellowship allowed her to successfully find a job in a foreign country, make friends from around the world, and have access to the valuable resources available from TEFL Prague.
