Assessment Procedures

For the first year or two, student learning will be assessed using a web-based survey.  At or near the completion of the course being assessed, students will be required to log onto a West in Time assessment website, where they will write a short essay (250-500 words) in response to the following assignment, which focuses on the second learning outcome.  Future iterations of West in Time may include additional or other assignments keyed to other learning outcomes. 

  • Construct a chronological narrative of the western history examined in this course, identifying at least two major periods or epochs, briefly characterizing their central themes.
