Health Insurance Information

All students are required to have health insurance while attending Colorado College.   Either through a private plan, family plan or by purchasing the Humana plan offered through Colorado College.  If your student already has private insurance and you do not wish to purchase the student insurance plan, you must do 2 things.

  1. Provide proof of coverage by mailing a front and back copy of your health insurance card to:  Boettcher Health Center, Student Insurance Office, 1106 N Cascade Ave, Colo Spgs, CO 80903 OR scan and email a front and back copy to: insurancecards@coloradocollege.edu.  Faxed copies will not be accepted.
  2. Fill out the online waiver form at www.ahpcare.com/coloradocollege to opt out.

Both of these actions are required.   All students are initially charged for student health insurance at the beginning of the term, however, the charges are removed once the requirements have been met.  The waiver or opt out deadline is September 14, 2012, but PLEASE try to have this done by August 1st.  If you fail to waive by the deadline, you will be charged and enrolled in school insurance, No Exceptions.

If you intend to enroll in the Humana plan offered through the college, you must fill out the online enrollment form at www.ahpcare.com/coloradocollege.  The enrollment form IS required.  Coverage for the full year annual enrollment begins August 1, 2011 and goes through July 31, 2012 at a cost of $2347.  The enrollment period begins July 1, 2012 and ends September 14, 2012.  If you enroll after September 14, 2012, you will still be charged the full premium but your coverage will begin on the day of enrollment.  Please have your enrollments in on time.

Please note, just because you were charged for student insurance does not mean you are enrolled.  You must fill out the enrollment form online, or you are not enrolled.
