Free passports for some first years
Dear First Year Students:
When President Celeste retired in July of 2011, he put into place an innovative and generous policy for new Colorado College students. If you have never had a passport before, Colorado College will pay for your passport application. You must turn in your completed passport application on Monday, August 27th from 9am to noon during the Student Resource Fair in the Worner Student Center. An official from the Denver Passport Agency will be there to collect applications. You must have EVERYTHING completed when you turn in your passport application, EXCEPT DO NOT SIGN THE APPLICATION FORM. You must sign the application form in front of the passport agency official.
You can print your application and instructions at: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html
- Note that you will need to bring two passport photos with you when you turn in your application. Passport photos can be obtained at Walgreens (approx. $9 for two photos), Kinko’s (approx. $14), and AAA Travel (if a AAA member).
- You must turn in your original, raised-seal birth certificate. It will be returned to you with your passport.
- Bring your CC ID card and your driver’s license AND a photo copy of each.
- You will not need to bring any form of payment since CC is paying for the application.
Read all instructions for applying for your passport meticulously.
If you have any questions about the application, please contact 1-877-4USAPPT. Other questions can be directed to Inger Bull, Director of International Programs, at Inger.Bull@ColoradoCollege.edu.
