Campus Events: Food Policy

Campus Events-Food Policy
Suggestion/Problem/Idea:
The events culture on campus is such that there are so many events offered that it can be hard to decide which to go to, so people will often go to whichever one has free food. As a result, there's a sort of escalating "arms race" in which it's understood that people must provide food to have any chance of winning attendees to an event. It was suggested, via the Active Initiatives site, that this events culture be addressed so that the community would collectively agree to reduce the amount of free food that is offered at campus events.  The reasoning behind the suggestion was that it would save money, increase community health, and contribute to sustainability.

Resolution:
The Steering committee declined to move this initiative forward.
