Strategic Plan Approval and Trustee Retreat Update
Dear Campus Community,
I am thrilled to announce that at the recent Board of Trustees retreat, the board approved and adopted our strategic plan, titled “The Colorado College Plan: Building on the Block.” This approval by the board recognizes the hard work of so many of you. Without the assistance and input of the entire campus community, the results of the Year of Planning would not have been possible. Honoring your work, the board approved a resolution of gratitude and commendation that I have attached.
At this year’s Fall Conference, we will begin our rollout of the strategic plan and the tactics for implementation. The conference will include sessions that highlight significant aspects of the plan. Additionally, we are developing opportunities to engage and familiarize all of our constituents—students, parents, alumni, prospective students, and local community—with our strategy for the future.
In addition to the approval of the strategic plan, the Board of Trustees also approved several other items at their retreat:
- Renovation of Spencer Center
- Approval of funding and continued work on a proposed construction of a 2-megawatt photovoltaic solar array
- Trustee bylaws
- Many updates to the Faculty Handbook
- Promotion to full professor for Professor Bryan Rommel-Ruiz. Congratulations Bryan!
In the coming weeks, we will share more information regarding the Spencer Center renovations and the details of the solar array.
Again, thanks for your tireless efforts during our Year of Planning. Now, we begin the fun of implementation. If you have any questions, please let me know. Enjoy the last weeks of summer. I look forward to gathering together as a community at Fall Conference on Aug. 27!
