2013–2014 Tuition and Fees

Dear Campus Community,

On Saturday, the Colorado College Board of Trustees approved the college’s budget for the 2013-14 academic year, setting the comprehensive fee at $54,534. This comprises tuition and fees of $44,222, standard room rate of $5,826 and standard board rate of $4,486.

Colorado College is committed to preserving access and, therefore, we are increasing the financial aid budget for incoming and current students. Students who are currently receiving financial aid will be notified about next year’s aid package by June 1.

This year’s 5.95 percent increase in the comprehensive fee will allow us to enrich the academic program, fund the operation of the new fitness center, continue to invest in technology and sustainability, upgrade student residences and better support career development, internships and other opportunities for our students. In addition, we will increase financial aid and provide normal staff and faculty salary increases. All of these efforts will support our priorities as we begin to implement our strategic plan.

Every year, endowment earnings and annual giving provide approximately 25% of our operating budget; enabling Colorado College to provide an exceptional educational experience at a price lower than the average of our peer liberal arts colleges. Major gifts have funded the recent renovation of the El Pomar Sports Complex and construction of the Adam F. Press Fitness Center, creating wonderful new facilities for our students.

There is strong evidence that a college education is one of the most important investments one can make. I know that investment in a CC education will continue to benefit our students throughout their lives. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at president@coloradocollege.edu.

Sincerely,

Jill Tiefenthaler
