A Message from President Tiefenthaler - President's Office Changes

August 12, 2011

Dear campus community members,

I would like to take this time to announce a few changes in the president’s office.

Jermyn Davis has joined the office as chief of staff. In his role, Jermyn oversees the daily functions of the office of the president. In addition to helping develop and implement strategic initiatives according to the priorities of the president, he coordinates the college’s senior staff meetings and serves as a liaison between senior administrators and other various campus and external constituents. Jermyn is responsible for the presidential staff and budget while also working with the Board of Trustees. As needed, he coordinates special projects and represents the president on various college committees. Before joining Colorado College he worked in the president’s office at Wake Forest University. During his time at Wake Forest, Jermyn helped lead the university through its enterprise risk management process; implemented strategy with the vice president of advancement during the quiet phase of the university’s capital campaign; created and implemented opportunities for the university’s senior leadership to interact and engage university constituents; and worked with the university’s board of trustees. Additionally, Jermyn implemented programs that enhanced student life, created opportunities for faculty-student engagement, and worked with the provost to enrich benefits and resources for faculty and staff.

Carolyn Madsen is now the assistant to the president. Carolyn will coordinate the president’s schedule and assist the office as the office coordinator.

Linda Petro will continue her support of the Board of Trustees. In addition, she will assist Jermyn and complete special projects for the office of the president.

I would like to thank Beth Brooks, outgoing director of the president's office, for her dedication, insight and guidance in the past few weeks in easing my transition into Colorado College and the presidency. Her loyalty to CC and the campus community is evident and inspiring. I wish her well as she pursues a post-graduate degree at UCCS, and I hope she will visit us often. Please join me in welcoming Jermyn and thanking Carolyn and Linda for their ongoing excellent support of the president’s office.

Best regards,

Jill Tiefenthaler
