Parking Lots Currently Under Construction

The old W4 Bemis Lot - Sidewalk and curb repair - estimated completion on 8/8/2013

Parking Lot Repairs

Beginning on Friday, July 26, 2013, we will be repairing parking lots around campus. These repairs will include sealing and coating cracks, resurfacing where needed, and restriping. Multiple crews will be on campus and working over the weekends. To complete this work as quickly as possible, we will need to empty the lot being worked on.

We will be sending out a notice at least 3 days in advance of planned work in a certain lot and placing a notice on this webpage. You will be given directions where to park while the lot is being serviced, as well as an estimated completion date. The summer rains do take their toll on these estimates, but we will try to keep as close to the schedule as possible. Depending on the scope of work being conducted in the lot, vehicles that have not moved by the deadline provided in the notice may be relocated by tow truck to another lot on campus.

The first lot affected will be the S1 lot. Work will begin in the S1 lot this Friday, July 26, 2013 at 8 AM. Crews will start on the south side of the Central Services building and work north toward Wooglins. Work will continue over the weekend, and as sections of the lot are completed, they will be reopened for use. People who normally use the S1 lot are welcome to park in the S5 Slocum Lot (where the old Conoco station was), the S2 CC Inn lot, or the S4 Dale Street lot (behind the Unitarian Church). As always, the E1 Northeast lot is open for overflow parking for anyone temporarily displaced.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need help finding a place to park, please contact the Campus Safety office at x6707.

Thank you all for your patience and cooperation while we upgrade our facilities!

Permit Application Day 2013-2014 Academic Year

Permit application for the 2013-2014 academic year is now active. Click the link on the left that says "Application".

Paid Visitor Parking Spaces Moved from C2 Armstrong Lot to S5 Slocum Lot

To help mitigate the displacement of C2 Armstrong Lot permit holders during the Slocum Hall renovation project, the paid visitor parking spaces and yellow pay station have been relocated to the S5 Slocum Lot on the southwest corner of Nevada Avenue and Cache La Poudre Street. Please be sure to inform your guests that day and block guest passes are no longer valid in the C2 lot.

New Parking Office Hours

We are excited to report that the parking office will now be staffed from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Appeals, ticket payments, permit purchase and ordering, and all other parking related inquiries can now be made all the way until 5pm.

New Changes to the Parking System:

Several changes were made to the parking system over the summer that are now in effect for the academic year.

1. For the sake of clarity, two new violations have been adopted: "Wrong Permit for Lot" citations will be issued to permitted vehicles that are not parked in the correct area, and "Overtime Parking" citations will be issued to vehicles parked in excess of the posted time limit on 15 and 30 minute temporary spaces. These two citations replace the older "Illegal Parking" violation. The base amount for these tickets will be $10, and will follow the escalating fine policy established for Illegal Parking citations.

2. The 8 permit spaces directly adjacent to Montgomery Hall are no longer part of the W3 parking lot. They have been reserved for Admissions Guests only, as indicated by the new signs in the area. If you park in these spaces, you will receive a $75 ticket and could be towed. Please respect the reserved parking spaces on campus and help us better serve our prospective student population.

3. New directional signs have been placed throughout campus better identifying one-way traffic areas. These signs were placed to prevent traffic accidents, and we strongly urge all motorists to obey them. Vehicles observed in violation of these one-way traffic regulations will be ticketed.

4. In an effort to make better use of our available parking spaces, the rules regarding where you should park if your assigned lot is full have been changed. You are now allowed to park in the E1 Northeast Campus parking lot if you cannot find an open space in your assigned lot. You are still allowed to park in the closest available "Paid Visitor Parking" area, but we encourage people to try parking in the E1 lot so that those visitor spaces can be left available for visitors to campus.
