Holiday Pay Policies

Full- and part-time staff are paid for the following holidays*:

  • New Year’s Eve and New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and following Friday
  • Christmas Eve Day
  • Christmas Day

Full- and part-time benefits eligible non-exempt staff who are required to work on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, will be paid at their regular rate of pay for the holiday plus one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for hours worked on the holiday.

Full- and part-time benefits eligible non-exempt staff who are required to work on Independence Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving, or during Winter Break other than Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will be given equivalent time off during that pay period (or an agreed upon future date within the same fiscal year), or will be paid their regular rate of pay for hours worked in addition to the holiday (at the discretion of the supervisor) for each of those days.

The college reserves the right to change the holiday schedule at any time.

*For shift workers, the holiday runs midnight to midnight.
