How to Create a PROWL Course
You are always welcome to ask us to create a course for you – the process is quick and we’re happy to do it for you! As part of the creation process we’ll give you access to edit anything in the course (“teacher” permissions), so that you need not worry about fiddling with course creation if you don’t want to. Contact us at x6449 or helpdesk@coloradocollege.edu, or if you'd prefer, contact your department liaison from ATS.
This guide uses a fictitious English course to show the standard procedure for creating a course in PROWL – there are many other options to fiddle with, but we’ve listed here the choices we think are the most common for quickly creating a course (after creation, course settings can always be edited later).
Finally, this guide also assumes that you have “Course Creator” permissions in PROWL. If you are following this guide and discover that you do not see the “add a new course” button, then you are either not logged in or do not have course creator permissions. We try to give all new faculty course creator permissions automatically, but sometimes that doesn't always work - it's an easy fix though, just let us know.
For quick reference, the PROWL course naming convention is:
Course Number Course Title – Professor’s Last Name Block Year
EN 101 Introduction to English – Smith B1 2010-11
