Registering for Disability Support Services
We value a collaborative process as we work with students to establish services. Therefore, please set up a time to talk with the director of Disability Services (DS) about your request for support services, your past use of accommodations and services, and the likely impact of the disability on your educational experiences at Colorado College. The information you provide is an essential component in the determination of reasonable accommodations and services.
Incoming first-year and transfer students can schedule a phone appointment for an initial consultation with the director of DS. However, you should also plan to meet with the director upon arrival to campus, preferably before the first day of class.
Additionally, you should complete the Request for Disability Support Services Form and provide documentation of disability. If possible, please send an electronic copy of your documentation via email to the director of DS. If you are not able to provide an electronic copy, you may fax or mail the documentation or just drop the paperwork off at our office.

Timing of Requests for Disability Support Services
Students who choose to register with Disability Services typically do so soon after acceptance to Colorado College and confirmation to attend. However, students may request services at any time while enrolled at the college. Please keep in mind that due to the intense pace of the Block Plan, requesting services in a timely manner allows staff sufficient time to evaluate your request and implement reasonable accommodations and services.
We ask that you allow two weeks for the Disability Services staff to review your request for support services and supporting documentation. However, if you need accommodations and services implemented sooner, please let us know so we can expedite the review process.
