Disability Services collaborates with the campus community to ensure an inclusive and accessible college experience for students with disabilities. We are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations and services as we encourage students to develop independence and self‑determination.

Who We Are

The office of Disability Services (DS) coordinates support for students with disabilities so they may participate fully in college life and derive the greatest benefit from their educational experiences.

We work with more than 10 percent of Colorado College's students, including those with learning disabilities, ADHD, chronic health conditions, traumatic brain injuries, mobility impairments and other physical disabilities, psychological disorders, visual impairments, and hearing impairments. We also assist students who experience temporary medical conditions and injuries who may need accommodations. And we consult with students who suspect they may have a disability or are referred by a faculty or staff member.

Whether you're a new student at Colorado College or a current student just now checking out our resources, we'd be happy to talk with you about the services we offer, the Block Plan, or disabilities and access in general.

What We Offer

Our staff works with students on an individual basis to plan strategies, including reasonable accommodations, to facilitate access to learning, living, and other experiences at CC. Some of the accommodations used by students include extended time on exams, a distraction-reduced exam setting, notetaking assistance, alternate formats of text, and accessible campus housing. We also provide academic counseling, including assistance with time management and organizational skills. And, in collaboration with Academic Technology Services, we offer a variety of assistive technology options to enhance students' academic experiences.

How to Request Services

DS is ready to help you make the most of your experiences at CC, but you must initiate the process. Please start off by contacting our office to set up a time to talk with the director of DS about your request for support services. Additionally, you should complete a Request for Disability Support Services Form and submit documentation of disability.

Of course, we're here to help you at any point, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need assistance.

We look forward to hearing from you!
