About Disability Services Staff

Jan Edwards, Director of Disability Services & ADA Coordinator

Jan received her BA in psychology from the University of South Carolina and her MA in education from East Carolina University. She has over 20 years of experience in directing disability support programs for college students. Additionally, she has served as the director of a learning assistance center, an academic advisor, and an instructor of reading, writing, and ESL courses. Jan has been at Colorado College since 2005 and serves as the initial point of contact regarding disability services for students. As the ADA coordinator, Jan assists the college in promoting and maintaining an inclusive and accessible community for students, faculty, staff, and guests of the college.

Jeremy Remy, Assistant Director of Disability Services

Jeremy has a BA degree in English and is currently working on his MA in Communication with a social justice emphasis. He has worked in educational settings for the past eight years, serving as an academic advisor, a tutor in writing, a teaching assistant in reading and speech classes, and an instructor in communication. Jeremy has been at Colorado College since 2012, serving as the Disability Services Advisor. In his role, he consults with students regarding disability-related issues, provides academic counseling, and facilitates workshops to assist in the development of effective learning strategies and the use of assistive technologies.

Patti Spoelman, Learning Commons Office Coordinator

Patti, a Colorado College staff member since 1991, serves as the office coordinator for the Learning Commons. In this role, Patti provides support for the Crown Faculty Center, the Colket Student Learning Center for Academic Excellence, and the Disability Services program. In her role with Disability Services, Patti coordinates notetaking services and the equipment loan program for students.
