Along with other Chaplains' Office staff, our interns work actively to foster the life and growth of the spirit at Colorado College by organizing and facilitating a wide variety of spiritual life programming; participating in events and activities; and representing the chaplains' office to the campus and local community.
Ben is a senior religion major and film minor from Montclair, New Jersey. He enjoys writing and filmmaking using religious mythos to tell interesting and thought-provoking stories. He dabbles in martial arts and loves to speak using peculiar syntax and eccentric vernacular. He currently is co-chair of CC Film Union, an RA in the Western Ridge apartments, a Communications Intern, and of course, a Chaplains' Office Intern. Ben's responsibilities in the Chaplains' Office include coordinating the Men's Circle and the new Spirituality and Film series!
Adele is a senior art history major from either Chicago, Illinois or Berkeley, California (take your pick!). She is an ex-trapeze artist and a current graphic novelist. She enjoys mangos and cookie dough above most other things. Adele works with the Women's Spirituality Circle, programs around Jewish spirituality and identity, and collaborates with Krithika on the Interfaith Text Study.
As a Chaplains' Office intern, Emily is facilitating the Spiritual Journeys program, helping to plan the second block break Spiritual Life Retreat, and coordinating hospitality (food!!!) events. You will also often find her unofficially contributing to Chaplains' Office events by singing, dancing, hugging, and laughing. When she's not spreading her joy around Shove, she is likely to be at a potluck or taking a nap somewhere outside. Her hopes and dreams include travel, meaningful and intentional community, spending lots of time outside, and discovering new things! Emily is a junior religion major from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Nompendulo Mpesh Shongwe
Mpesh is a junior mathematical economics major from Manzini, Swaziland. Mpesh's responsibilities as a Chaplains' Office intern include co-planning the second block break retreat, working to facilitate communication among the various Christian groups on campus, and assisting Chaplain Kate with Taizé worship. She loves being at CC because of the many great opportunities which are available to students. She says that her experience here gets better and better by the day!
Krithika is a senior English major and international student from India who has been interested in interfaith activities for a long time. Being a part of the community at Shove has helped her pursue this interest while discovering her own spiritual leanings as she "muddles" through college! As a Chaplains' Office intern, Krithika is coordinating Interfaith Text Study and Shove Council. She is also deeply interested in exploring the notion of being culturally religious and hopes to share that exploration with everyone in the Shove community.
