Public Achievement
Overview
Colorado College Public Achievement is in its sixth year and has operated at the elementary, middle, and high school levels around Colorado Springs. College "coaches" meet with a small group of students twice a week for an entire school year. During their time together, each group works on their own project to improve their school or community. Past Public Achievement groups have painted murals, changed policies, raised awareness, created clubs, filmed movies, and volunteered. Public Achievement teaches students to use their voice and make a change. Colorado College student "coaches" have the opportunity to get off campus, interact with the community, and earn money if they are work study eligible.
