Virginia Visconti is the Assistant Director for Community-Based Learning and Research. She holds a dual major PhD in social-cultural anthropology and education policy studies from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Sciences from the Colorado School of Public Health. She has taught at two-year and four-year institutions in both the U.S. and abroad. Prior to relocating to Colorado, Virginia directed the Public Service Research Program at Stanford University’s Haas Center for Public Service. There, she also taught courses focused on public scholarship, civic engagement, and community-based research, drawing upon her fieldwork in Vietnam. Her research interests now bridge medical anthropology and public health, in addition to the ways in which community-academic partnerships can promote the health and well-being of communities.
