Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

Campus Safety officers have been trained on and are certified to conduct CPTED security evaluations. They conduct on-going assessments on a daily basis as part of their patrol responsibilities, and can provide assessments of specific campus properties on request. Requests for on-campus assessments should be directed to the director of campus safety at 389-6707.

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) security assessments are available free to the public by appointment through the Colorado Springs Police Department's Crime Prevention Officers. Members of the CC community can contact the Campus Resource Officer for assessments at CSPDofficer@coloradocollege.edu

There are four important CPTED design concepts which they will use when conducting a security evaluation of your property or business. Assessments are available for residences, apartment communities, churches, schools, businesses, and other facilities.
