Half-day workshop on developing resources to address common teaching challenges
Wednesday February 13 12:15 pm - 4:00 pm TLC 3 (in the library)
Do you have trouble figuring out if your students “get it” or not? Are your students staying at a surface-level understanding of your subject when you would really like them to get to a conceptual understanding? Do you spend so much time on basics (or on reviewing things students were supposed to have learned in their last course) that you don’t get to the more advanced material? Then come to the blended learning workshop the afternoon of Wednesday February 13, where we will be talking about resources we can develop to help address these issues and others. Representatives of Academic Technology Services, the library, and the Colket Center for Academic Excellence will be there. We will also have guest speakers from Regis University who will talk about a blended learning project in educating students about plagiarism that they undertook last year. Faculty will receive a $50 stipend for attending, and lunch will be provided. RSVP to Sarah Withee swithee@coloradocollege.edu if you are able to attend, and feel free to contact her with any questions you may have about the workshop. If you aren’t able to attend, but have a teaching challenge you’d like to add to our brainstorming list, email Sarah, and she will add it to the discussion on February 13.
