ATS equipment checkout and help using technology
The Academic Technology Services team also has some equipment available for checkout, including classroom response systems (“clickers”) and Mobi wireless tablets (which offer many of the functions of a SmartBoard with more portability and less expense). Contact Sarah Withee if you are interested in using either of these two types of equipment.
And, if you need help figuring out how to use your iPad or other departmentally-owned technology in your classroom, please contact your academic technology liaison for assistance.
Smart classrooms and equipment checkout
If you need a computer attached to a data projector and will be using it for most days of your class, a smart classroom may be the answer. Please ask your department chair or staff assistant to submit a request for a smart classroom to the Registrar’s Office. Note that not all smart classrooms come with computers – some have only the projector.
If you are not assigned to a smart classroom, there is a pool of checkout equipment available through Media Services in the basement of Armstrong Hall. Equipment available includes data projectors, PC laptops, document cameras, and portable smartboards. You can contact Media Services at x6378. Be aware that there is a lot of demand for this equipment, and it may not be available if you wait until the last minute. It is best to get your reservation in early.
