Three Tigers net top SCAC awards

Three members of the Colorado College women's lacrosse team received the league’s top individual honors after a ballot of the SCAC's head coaches.

Senior midfielder Grace Maloney was named offensive player of the year, junior goaltender Abby Fink was tabbed defensive player of the year, and Susan Stuart shared coach of the year honors with two of her peers.

In addition to Maloney and Fink, senior midfielder Bailey Terhune and junior attacker Ellie Cole were first-team all-conference selections. Junior defender Nancy Makuch and junior midfielder Ginna Oates were named to the all-SCAC second team.

The awards come the same week Colorado College won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship. (See http://www.cctigers.com/news/2012/4/29/WLAX_0429121744.aspx)

Stuart shared the coach of the year award with Tracy Cepnio of Millsaps College and Julie Beer of Centre College. Stuart led the Tigers to a 15-3 record and the program record for victories in a single season. The old record of 13-3 was first set in 2004 and tied last year.
