Colorado College President Jill Tiefenthaler’s op-ed piece on the value of a college education appears on the Huffington Post’s College page. Tiefenthaler, who holds a Ph.D. in economics and teaches a course on the economics of higher education, touches on such topics as:

• Those with a college degree are more likely to be employed than those without, and more likely to have increased earnings throughout their lifetime.
• The data shows that a college degree has been valuable to economic security during the recent downturn. 
• What one gets from higher education is not easily measurable and often isn’t fully realized until years after graduation.
