He was a two-time all-West Region and all-SCAC selection, earning those accolades both as a junior and senior.

A center back on the men's soccer team that shut out 12 opponents during the 2012 season, Lammers also excelled in the classroom, posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.88. He plans to return to CC in the fall as a paraprofessional in the physics department, from which he received the prestigious Wilbur Wright Memorial Prize as well as the Cowperthwaite Award for Excellence in Physics. He also was graduated with distinction in philosophy and recently was included among 11 former Colorado College student-athletes named to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

"It is an honor for Colorado College to have Nick Lammers selected as the inaugural SCAC Man of the Year," said Tigers head coach Horst Richardson. "He combined academic rigor with a high level of soccer talent to become an outstanding student and a stellar defender on our team. From an unassuming newcomer four years ago, he developed into a pillar of strength on defense and a leader on and off the field."
