Documentary by Greg Hamilton '94 on Nationwide TV Sunday Evening

“The Movement,” a documentary written and co-directed by Greg Hamilton ’94, will air nationwide on Sunday, Dec. 16 on Fox Sports Net (FSN). The film features five disabled athletes who have regained a sense of freedom through skiing. It focuses primarily on Rick Finkelstein, a movie executive and avid skier who was paralyzed in 2004 skiing accident on Aspen Mountain. When Finkelstein went back to Aspen in 2010 to learn how to use a mono-ski, Hamilton and co-director Kurt Miller, son of Warren Miller, put it on film.

Finkelstein’s story is intertwined with those of four other disabled athletes, including a Vietnam veteran who lost his legs in a land mine explosion; a skier blind since age 3 who set a speed-skiing world record for blind skiers; a collegiate racer who was paralyzed in a ski crash but went on to win 13 Paralympics medals; and a former March of Dimes poster child.

“The Movement,” narrated by Robert Redford and Warren Miller, was selected for the Sundance Film Festival and 20 other festivals. It has won five awards to date, including Best Documentary at the Breckenridge Festival of Film. The film will air on FSN’s regional sports channel affiliates; check local listings at TV Guide.
