Colorado College Among Top Contributors to Teach For America

Colorado College placed 18 alumni with Teach For America this year, four more than last year, making CC one of the top contributors to Teach For America among colleges and universities of its size.

For the past five years, Colorado College has been among the top contributors from the “small school” category, defined as 2,999 or fewer undergraduates. This year CC placed fourth in its category, rising seven spots from last year's 11th place. Additionally, 9 percent of CC’s graduating seniors applied to Teach For America this year. A total of 87 Colorado College alumni have taught as corps members since the organization was founded in 1990.

This year, a historic 5,800 individuals joined Teach For America. Together with the 2011 corps, they make up more than 10,000 corps members leading high-need classrooms in 46 regions that span 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Applicants include graduating seniors, graduate students, and professionals. For more information, go to: http://www.teachforamerica.org/sites/default/files/2012.Top_.Contributors.pdf
