Austin Howlett ’15 wins one-meter diving

Austin Howlett ’15 won the one-meter diving for the second year in row at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving competition.

Howlett, from Hawaii, dominated the event with a school record and NCAA qualifying score of 498.10, breaking his previous standard in the 11-dive event by 17.15 points. It is the third highest score since the SCAC Championships began in 1999.

In Wednesday's final event, the quartet of Daniel Oldendorf '17, Matt Nadel '15, Michael Bennett '14, and Colin Chupik '16 took second in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a season-best clocking of 6:56.08. That effort was more than four seconds faster than CC's winning time last year.

The Tigers began the meet by taking third in the 200 medley relay. The team of Chris Garrity '15, Alex Garner '16, Bennett and Oldendorf turned in a season-best effort of 1:36.87. For more information, see http://cctigers.com/news/2014/2/12/MSD_0212142112.aspx
