Austin Howlett ’15 Dominates 1-Meter Diving Competition

Colorado College’s Austin Howlett ’15 turned in a dominating performance on the 1-meter board to win the first event at the 2013 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 13.

Howlett finished 120.05 points ahead of the second-place finisher, Trinity University’s Stu Sproul, with an NCAA qualifying score of 480.95 to claim his second conference title. His score was 36.89 better than last year’s total of 444.20 that resulted in a second-place finish.

Howlett will defend his 3-meter crown at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. The SCAC’s swimming and diving championships are being held at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center in Rockwall, Texas. For more information, see http://www.cctigers.com/news/2013/2/13/MSD_0213134545.aspx
