Four CC Graduates Now Tapped by Obama Administration
A fourth Colorado College graduate has been tapped for a position with the Obama administration. President Barack Obama announced on Thursday, July 9, that he intends to nominate Marcia McNutt, a 1974 graduate of Colorado College, to be director of the U.S. Geological Survey and science advisor to the secretary of the interior. Additional Colorado College-Obama administration connections include three parents: Tom Vilsack, secretary of agriculture and an ’03 parent, David Axelrod, senior advisor to Obama and an ’09 parent, and Christine Varney, U.S. Department of Justice assistant attorney general and an ’09 parent.
