Two CC professors, 25 students participate in the Democratic National Convention - Colorado College

Two Colorado College professors and 25 Colorado College students participated in the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Tom Cronin, McHugh Professor of American Institutions and Leadership, was faculty director for The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars program at the DNC, in which 370 students from across the country participated.

Among them were 25 Colorado College students taking a summer session course titled “Studies at the National Political Convention: The 2008 Democratic National Convention.” Bob Loevy, Colorado College political science professor, was faculty leader for the CC course. All students in the CC class had tickets for Barack Obama's acceptance speech at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium.

The students attended lectures and small group discussions and interned in a variety of positions, ranging from working with international media to providing security.
