Gramophone: CD by Scott, Bowed Piano Ensemble one of finest ever made - Colorado College

"Vikings of the Sunrise," the 1996 CD by composer and CC Professor of Music Stephen Scott with the college's Bowed Piano Ensemble, is praised in the September 2007 issue of British classical music magazine Gramophone as one of the 50 recordings "among the finest ever made." In the story, titled "Music's Best-Kept Secrets," critic Jed Distler wrote that Scott and the Bowed Piano Ensemble performers "create lush, twangy, hypnotic sonorities like nothing you've ever imagined."
