Concert: Vieux Farke ToureVieux Farke Touré is the son of Malian musician Ali Farka Touré. Vieux’s debut self-titled solo album features Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté on several tracks. It has been acclaimed by critics worldwide. Vieux has proven in his energetic live shows that he is the heir to Ali’s talent, although he has affirmed his own style of African funk desert blues. He was the flagship artist for Modiba Productions from the date of release of his debut album. His new album, Fondo, was released in May 2009 by Six Degrees Records.
A free concert with a suggested donation of two non-perishable food items for Care and Share. Weather permitting, the concert will be outdoors in the Armstong Quad - rain backup is in Armstrong Hall. Sponsored by KRCC Concerts, and the Pikes Peak Library District, Location: Armstrong Quad
