Concert: Japanese Taiko Drum ConcertKaminari Taiko of Crestone will perform a Japanese drum concert. Kaminari (Japanese for "thunder") Taiko Group, led by Kenji Nishiyama, is composed of both native drummers from Japan as well as local musicians who "train" in the remote mountain town north of Crestone. Renowned taiko drummer Koji Nakajima, now residing in Pasadena, will join the group for the concert. Local musician Bea Brecht will play the 13-stringed koto, a traditional Japanese harp-like instrument, during intermission. A short taiko "workshop" will follow the performance for all who are interested. Children are encouraged to come enjoy the excitement. Free for children under 12 and with CC ID. Everyone must have ticket to be admitted due to limited space. Tickets are available at Worner Campus Desk or online at www.ticketswest.com.
