Presentation: "Many Gods, One World: The Greening of Faiths Around the World"
Betsy Gaines Quammen, CC graduate of 1990, is the founder and executive director of The Tributary Fund. The Tributary Fund is a nonprofit environmental organization based in Bozeman, Mont., that engages communities around the world in conservation solutions by connecting religious, scientific and local leaders. Each project TTF undertakes joins culture and conservation. A goal of TTF is to promote the protection of native species, lands and waters in a way that is integral to native cultural traditions and practices. TTF is not a religious organization, but recognizes the power and importance of religious beliefs. Core programs in Montana, Mongolia and Africa focus on community involvement for conservation, conservation dialogues with religious leaders in local cultures, and environmental outreach and education. Sponsored by The Roberts Lecture Fund in the Natural Sciences and the Venture Grant Program.

Theater: The Civilians: "This Beautiful City"
"This Beautiful City" is a provocative musical about the growth of the evangelical movement in Colorado Springs, created by the New York-based investigative theater company The Civilians. Performed off-Broadway in New York City and in several cities across the country, "This Beautiful City" is the culmination of The Civilians’ residency in Colorado Springs in 2006. While conducting interviews with residents involved with or affected by the mega-church movement and the battle raging over gay marriage, scandal broke about New Life Church pastor Ted Haggard and shook the city of Colorado Springs, providing the play’s creators with an unprecedented opportunity to capture an important event as it was taking place, and providing the people of Colorado Springs the opportunity to express their opinions and concerns as those events unfolded.
Sponsored by the Colorado College Cultural Attractions Fund, KRCC: Radio Colorado College, The Colorado Springs Gazette, Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Pikes Peak Gay and Lesbian Community Center.
