Virtual Tour of Historic Colorado College
Montgomery Hall (1889)

Montgomery Hall, the first women's residence erected on campus, was built and furnished by the Woman's Educational Society, who raised $15,000 through bazaars, lectures, and various projects during the late 1880's. The Castle Rock sandstone building was designed by a prominent team of Colorado Springs architects, Douglas and Hethering. It was named after the sister of President Slocum's wife, Elisabeth Robinson Montgomery.

Notice the changes made between 1915 and 1949 to the porch and facade.
