Who May Borrow
- Fine Arts Center permanent staff.
FAC staff will need to register at the Circulation Desk in order to be activated as a borrower. A photo ID will be required.
Loan Periods
- Books and Government Documents (limit 10) – 30 days
- Current Books (CBS) – 30 days
- Videos/DVD – DO NOT CIRCULATE. If viewing stations are available, FAC staff may view these items in the library.
Renewals
One renewal is permitted for items that do not have a hold placed on them.
General collection items may be renewed:
- In person at the Circulation Desk
- By phone (719) 389-6184
- By using the “View Your Own Library Record” option in the TIGER catalog
- By E-mailing Tutt Library Circulation Desk
Returning Materials
Those using library materials, whether in or out of the building, are responsible for any deterioration in the condition of the material while in their use, and for the safe and timely return of the materials.
Designated return areas are the following:
- The Circulation Desk for all material that has been checked out
- The book return bin at the front door for after-hours return
- The tops of microform cabinets for microforms
- Bins on the end of library stacks located throughout the library, for the return of materials which have not been checked out.
Borrowers who lose or damage library material will be assessed a replacement charge. If a lost item is found and returned in good condition before the replacement has been ordered, the replacement cost will be refunded.

Overdues and Fines
Fines will not be charged for overdue books; however, materials not returned in a timely manner will result in the suspension of Tutt Library privileges.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan services may be used to obtain books and articles not owned by Tutt Library. FAC staff will be limited to 3 items requested at any given time. Generally, there will be no charge for this service. However, if an item or items can only be obtained at a significant cost to Tutt Library, these charges may need to be assumed by the requestor. Holds and Recalls
Placing holds on materials is not available to FAC staff.
Non- Circulating Materials
- The following types of materials do not usually circulate.
- Reference materials
- Special Collection materials (no exceptions)
- Microforms
- Any material marked “non-circulating” (e.g., “Library use
only” or “not to leave the library”) - Newspapers
- Periodicals
- Most maps
- Some Government Documents which are “non-circulating”
Confidentiality of Records
Library circulation records and other records identifying the names of library patrons are confidential in nature. Such records will not be made available except pursuant to legal process, order or subpoena.
