Seay Computer Use Policy for Public Patrons
This policy includes, but is not limited to, CLC cardholders, area secondary and college students, and other patrons who are not affiliated with Colorado College.
As a community service, Seay Library provides public patrons the opportunity to use the rich resources of our library to accomplish their research. The library has designated certain computers for use by the public. These computers offer access to all the library resources that are available to the CC community. You must ask at the Circulation Desk to be logged on each time you visit.
The following resources are available for use:
- TIGER online catalog
- Web-based periodical databases licensed to Tutt
- Government Document resources
- Internet resources
To make the best use of your time and discover all the resources available to you, ask a librarian to assist you with your research. Please be aware that librarians must give priority to CC students, faculty and staff. If it is busy, you may not receive prompt service.
Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If other public patrons are waiting, you will be limited to 30 minutes. If a CC student needs your computer, you will be asked to surrender it. You may print 5 pages free; additional prints are $.10 per page, payable at the Circulation Desk.
The following activities are not allowed:
- Word-processing
- Chat rooms
- Visiting adult Web sites (Campus Security will be notified)
- Playing games
- Commercial activities
Public patrons who are discovered using library equipment to visit adult Web sites will be reported to Campus Security. Other rule infractions may result in being asked to leave.
NOTE: The Penrose Public Library at 20 N. Cascade has numerous computers available for public use.
