Library Card
After receiving your Gold Card you must register in the Library to activate your library account. Bring Gold Card to the library, fill out a Tutt application form, and then the card will be activated for checking out material.
You must present your Gold Card in order to check-out any items.
Loan Periods
Visiting*/ Part-time Faculty and Para-professionals
- Books and scores – 30 days
- Non-circulating books and scores – 7 days
- CDs / CD-ROMs / VHS Videos – 7 days
- DVDs / Laserdiscs – 7 days
- Cassettes / Records (LPs) – 7 days
- Reel-to-Reel Tapes – 7 days
Renewals
One (1) renewal is permitted for most items that do not have a hold placed on them.
Items may be renewed as follows:
- In person at the Circulation Desk
- By phone (719) 389-6560
- By logging into your TIGER account
- By e-mailing the Seay Library

Returning Materials/Fines
Overdue fines are not charged to Visiting Part-time Faculty and Para-professionals, but replacement costs are incurred for materials that are lost or damaged. Please see library policy regarding replacement for lost or damaged material.
Designated return areas are the following:
- The Circulation Desk
- The book return bin, outside the library door, for after-hours return.
- Tutt Library, when Packard Hall is closed.
Interlibrary loan materials should be returned to Tutt Library.
Holds and Recalls
A hold may be placed on material that is already checked out by clicking on the “Request” button in the TIGER Catalog.
Material is subject to recall if the current borrower has had it for more than two weeks.
Recalled material must be picked up within ten days of the date of the notice of availability. If it is not picked up within this time, it will be returned to the shelves or given to the next person on the waiting list, if one exists.
Non-Circulating Materials
The following types of materials do not usually circulate. Please ask library staff about limited special permission for the circulation of particular materials.
- Reference materials
- Sound/Video recordings
- Microforms
- Any material marked “non-circulating” (e.g. “Library Use Only” or “Not to Leave the Library”)
- Periodicals
Confidentiality of Records
Library circulation records and other records identifying the names of library patrons are confidential in nature. Such records will not be made available except pursuant to legal process, order or subpoena.
