Databases for Communication

Academic Search Premier: Coverage: 1988 - current; Provides access to basic journal index and some full text resources. Subject coverage is general and broad. Shows CC holdings.
Communication & Mass Media Complete: Coverage: Early 20th century - current; Covers all areas of communication and mass media. Includes fulltext for over 200 titles and citations to research journals, as well as major journalism reviews, recent encyclopedias, and handbooks in the area of communications studies. Some journals are indexed back as far as the early decades of the 20th century.
Humanities International Complete: Coverage: 1929 - current; A comprehensive humanities database, with almost 500 full text titles and indexing and abstracting for more than 1,700 titles. Subject areas include (but are not limited to) literature, philosophy, the arts, history, culture-oriented and multi-disciplinary humanities titles with some coverage going back as far as 1929. This database replaces Humanities Abstracts.
MLA International Bibliography: Coverage: 1963 - current; Literature, languages, linguistics, and folklore from over journals and series published worldwide.
Social Sciences Abstracts: Coverage: 1983 - current; International, English-language periodicals in sociology, anthropology, geography, economics, political science, and law.
SocINDEX: Coverage: 1895 - current; Indexes core sociology journals dating back to 1895. Use in place of Sociological Abstracts.

How to

Renew borrowed items

Log into your TIGER account to renew any items borrowed from our library or a Prospector library. For materials borrowed through Interlibrary Loan, contact the Interlibrary Loan office.
Borrow from the library

Campus community members must have a valid Gold Card to check out materials. See further details for students, faculty, staff, spouses and dependents, alumni, affiliates of area colleges or universities and other Colorado residents.
Borrow from other libraries

If you can’t find what you need at our library, try Prospector to search and request items from regional libraries. You can also submit an Interlibrary Loan request to borrow from other libraries.
