Ask a liaison librarian to
- teach your class about
- searching for and evaluating information
- citing sources in the style appropriate to your discipline
- RefWorks, the citation manager.
- assist with electronic reserves
- brainstorm ideas for research assignments for your course
- purchase resources for your course
- help you locate resources for your class assignment(s)
- collaborate with you in designing tools to assess the research process as well as the end product

- teach your class about
- developing a research question
- composing a thesis statement
- developing support for a thesis or argument
- organizing information from a variety of sources
- students can go to the writing center for:
- one-on-one writing consultations (sessions usually last 30-60 minutes) during which students can work on their writing in any stage, from inception to revision of a “finished” draft;
- workshops on “Critical Reading,” “Speaking in Public,” “Brainstorming Ideas,” “Implementing Research in Your Writing,” and “Interpreting and Explaining Data.”
- students who are speakers of English as a foreign language can receive help with writing skills.
