Like many other activities, reading is a skill that can be developed and improved with training and practice. Whether you are struggling to understand concepts and terms included in your class readings or wish to expand your critical reading skills, you may benefit from a one-to-one session in the Learning Commons with the Colket Fellow in Reading and Rhetoric.

Depending upon your needs, a reading tutorial can focus on skills such as note-taking and summarizing to improve comprehension and retention, skimming or scanning strategies to help you move more quickly through certain texts, or concentrate on issues that you encounter during a particular class or block.
